I was born and raised in Waynesboro, VA. I graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Psychology and Special Education. I went on to earn my Masters in Education at the University of Virginia. I began my teaching career in Charlottesville, VA, where I served as the School to Work Coordinator and Special Education teacher at the regional alternative program. I have spent the past 18 years here in Charlotte, working with exceptional children within CMS as well as several other charter schools. I was Nationally Board Certified and have earned ABD status with my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am passionate about equity in and through education, and seek to inspire my students to be kind, curious, compassionate and contributing citizens, who love learning. In my free time, I love to read, bargain shop, travel, watch college football and basketball and spend time with family and friends.
