Karen Howell’s Biography
Hello, my name is Karen Howell. This will be my fourth year teaching Kindergarten at Unity. I have been teaching for more than 10 years in elementary school. I love kids and how wonderful each new year brings as I meet my class for the first time. I get nervous but also a sense of pride to be working with another group of students, from which I know I will learn a lot.
I am married and have one daughter who will be starting 2nd Grade this year. I moved few years ago from Michigan and I am still learning to adjust to living down South.
Something weird about me: I love to travel but didn’t always have the time or the money. For the last 10 years, I have been obsessed with traveling at least once a year to a beach near and far. I plan my beach vacation at least 3 years ahead. My next one, which hasn’t been booked will be to Aruba. One of my favorite quotes is “Wander Often and Wonder Always” by Jon Traves. I am always asking “why” and curious about things. I can’t wait to answer the “whys” from my students!!
